The Ledyard Board of Education recognizes the right of parents or guardians to educate their children at home in accordance with Connecticut General Statutes and regulations of the Connecticut State Board of Education.  If you plan to homeschool your child/ren, please submit your written intent via the Ledyard Notice of Intent to Homeschool form or send your written intent to:

Connecticut Core Standards

The Connecticut Core Standards help provide families with a clear expectation of what each student should learn annually and accomplish according to grade level. We encourage you to align your curriculum and instruction with these standards. While homeschooling, Connecticut state guidance encourages you to maintain a portfolio containing samples of activities, assignments, projects/assessments, books and materials or programs used to develop your child’s individual curriculum.

Annual Correspondence & Portfolio Review

Families will be contacted annually before the start of each academic school year to verify continued intent to homeschool. If for any reason you need to update your information or if you intend to move out of the district during the time your student is being homeschooled please contact our Student Services Department at 860-464-9255 X1202.

Each year you will be invited to participate in an option annual portfolio review where you will have the opportunity to meet with a Ledyard Public Schools Building Administrator and receive helpful feedback about your home instruction program. Information on how to schedule this optional annual portfolio review will be sent to you as the school year draws close to its end.
