Adding Money on Your Student’s School Account

Parents or guardians can send cash, or a check made out to Ledyard BOE School Milk Fund, with your student to school.  Food service program staff will ensure that the funds are deposited to your student’s account.  There is no fee.

Alternatively, parents or guardians can use MySchoolBucks.com to add funds electronically to their student’s account following the steps below.  Please note there is a $3.25 fee per transaction.

 - To register for an account, navigate to https://www.myschoolbucks.com
 - In order to add your student(s) to your account, you will need your student’s ID# and school name.  If you do not know your student’s ID#, contact your building secretary or submit a request through the My School Bucks website.
 - Add funds to each student account.  Money deposited into lunch accounts may take up to 24 hours to post; this delay will not inhibit students from purchasing breakfast or lunch.

Important Points of Clarification on School Meals

 - Every student is allowed one breakfast and one lunch each day, regardless of their status (free, reduced, or paid) and regardless of the balance on their food service account.  Click here to see what qualifies as a breakfast and a lunch.
 - A la carte items and second meals - all students must have a positive food service account balance to purchase these items
 - Students will not be permitted to go into a deficit on their food service accounts due to the purchase of a la carte items and second meals
 - Examples of a la carte items:  Milk purchased separately from a meal, additional meals, or optional purchases such as bottled waters, juice, baked chips, whole grain cookies, ice cream, etc.
 - There are bottle filling stations or water fountains available in all buildings
