News from the Superintendent of Schools:

Ledyard Public Schools is seeking ways to support our families who may be having financial difficulty due to the government shutdown.  


Families impacted by the shutdown may now qualify for free or reduced price meals.  If you are an impacted family and need assistance, we encourage you to click here and complete a free or reduced price meal application (or call Sue Meserve at 860-464-9255 ext. 1300).  


Additionally, the Coast Guard is in need of supplies to support their food pantry. Non-perishable and perishable food items are being supplied to USCG families from a variety of donors, however, other specific items are needed. Below is the list of items that are in demand: Toothbrushes; Toothpaste; Paper Towels; Sugar; Flour; Rice (any kind); Apple Juice; Bread; Peanut Butter; Jelly; Baby Wipes; Pull-ups in sizes 2T-3T; Boxes of Pasta ; Jars of Pasta Sauce; Boxes of Macaroni & Cheese; Laundry Detergent.  


Those who would like to donate money or gift cards to these families can do so by dropping off money, gift cards, or checks in person at Leamy Hall on the campus of the USCGA.  All checks should be made out to: CPOA (USCG Chief Petty Officers Association).
